What is DTF? | Direct to Film Printing Explained – Shamus & Co

What is DTF Printing?

DTF stands for Direct to Film — the highest quality custom printing method available today.

Unlike old screen printing or vinyl, DTF prints your design onto a special film, then uses heat to transfer it onto **any fabric or color** with vibrant, long-lasting results.

How DTF Printing Works (4 Simple Steps)

  1. Design
Upload your artwork or let us create it for you.
  2. We Print
Your design is printed on premium DTF film using white ink + full color.
  3. Heat Press
We (or you) press at 310–320°F for 12–15 seconds.
  4. Peel & Wear
Ready to wear! Soft, stretchy, and durable.
